race residence

Winner of the Denver Mayor's Design Award in 2009 celebrating design and redevelopment within Denver. The project included an addition and remodel to a historic 'Denver square' residence. The design juxtaposes contemporary form and details with the original structure's detailing. Inset windows and fine horizontal rain-screen siding, while contemporary, take influence from the original running bond brick work and the thickness of the load bearing masonry structure. The project includes a master suite, family room, kitchen, bathrooms and a bedroom / home office. The project is located in a historic district and completed the historic design review process.
